Varadero Holidays

Varadero is located in the Matanzas province of Cuba and is situated on Hicacos Peninsula. This beach resort has been considered one of the most exclusive in the country with its beautiful beach stretching for twenty kilometers.

In addition to the great beach, Varadero has plenty of other natural attractions like caves and cays. There also many historical and cultural attractions in the nearby towns of Cardenas and Matanzas. Although Varadero does not have rich Cuban authenticity like Havana, there are still many museums, art galleries, handicraft markets and cigar shops where you can check out and taste a bit of the Cuban culture. There are also many great beach bars and restaurants where you can enjoy all kinds of drinks and popular cuisines. Varadero has lots of facilities for yachting, scuba-diving, sailing, deep-sea fishing and other interesting water sports.

When it comes to weather, you have nothing to worry about as the climate is always nice and warm throughout the year. Average year-round temperature is between 25 C and 30 C, so you can go sunbathing and swimming in any month. If you want to take a break from enjoying on the beach, you have numerous hiking trails and caves to explore. The Ecological Reserve of Varahicacos is a home to amazing flora and fauna, and in Varadero you will find one of the two great golf courses that Cuba has. The other one is located in the capital of Havana. Varadero is also attractive for those that seek a good nighttime entertainment, as there are lots of cabarets, music bars, cafés and discotheques.

From Varadero you can go on many boat tours to explore the shores of the Hicacos Peninsula and on numerous excursions leading inlands. Catamaran trips to Cayo Blanco are especially popular as that is the place with lots of nice coral reefs and perfect snorkeling spots. Sunset parties are organized on these boat trips as well, with nice music and open bar. That is ideal opportunity for making friends while exploring the area. A trip to Bellamar Caves is well worth it as they are one of the oldest Cuban attractions. It attracts tourists for over a century, and these caves are very large and impressive.

Those interested in watching or swimming with the dolphins should take a trip to see the Delfinario, while if you are interested in dancing and Cuban music you should definitely see the most popular cabaret in Cuba called Tropicana Matanzas. Nature lovers will enjoy Parque Josone which as a very large park located in the center of Varadero. There you will see lots of exotic birds, street vendors, live music shows and interesting rides for the children. The park is really amazing with many small lakes and bridges, full of flamingos and nice botanical gardens. Those interested in golfing should check out the beautiful hacienda building called Villa Du Pont, which now serves as a base of the Varadero Golf Club. The 18-hole golf course nearby is very large, and in this place you will find some very exclusive restaurants and bars.
