Paliouri is a very nice small village, located on the southern side of Kassandra Peninsula in Halkidiki. It is south of the popular tourist resort Pefkohori, and is about 120 kilometers away from the city of Thessaloniki. Paliouri is located in an area where the ancient town of Theramvos was once located. The name of the village Paliouri comes from the word Paliouria which translates as ‘bushes’. There are many archaeological sites in the region which you can visit and get informed more about the history of the place.

This traditional village has about thousand inhabitants who mainly live of tourism. The village does not lie directly on the coast, but it is situated between pinewood forests. Chrousso beach, or golden coast, is located just a couple of kilometers away from the village. The soft golden sand in combination with the crystal clear sea waters and the pinewoods in the back create an amazing landscape. The waters are shallow and warm, which makes the beach perfectly suitable for children. There are also a few smaller bays for those people that want to be away from the crowds. Along the beaches there are several nice beach bars that organize daily parties with music shows. On the beach there are options for several water sport activities, beach volleyball or tennis.
