Eliros Mare Hotel, Location

Eliros Mare is located in the northwestern part of Crete, in the province of Apokoronas. The hotel is located on the beautiful Kavros beach that stretches for over six kilometers. The nearest town is the vibrant Georgioupolis which is just four kilometers away, while Rethymno is below twenty kilometers away, Chania is forty kilometers away, and Heraklion is hundred kilometers away from the hotel.

The entire nature area around Eliros Mare is outstandingly beautiful, and the hotel has an ideal location from where you can quickly access the long and wide beach of Georgioupolis. Besides quick access to beaches, near Eliros Mare you will also find many historical spots, natural attractions, and other beautiful spots. Less than fifty meters from the hotel there is a bus stop with regular bus connection to and from all major places on Crete.

If you choose to spend your holiday at Eliros Mare then you should definitely visit the nearby town of Georgioupolis. It is a top tourist center in the region, full of interesting shops, cafés, tavernas, offering pretty good nightlife and other forms of entertainment.

Other attraction worth visiting is the Lake Kournas, located four kilometers away from the hotel. The area around this freshwater lake is famous for its rich flora and fauna, so nature lovers would definitely enjoy visiting this place.

A bit further away is the picturesque village of Argyropolis, located about ten kilometers away from Eliros Mare. The village is declared as a place of significant cultural interest and there you will find many attractive things to see. In and all around the village of Argyropolis you can go visit some very beautiful Byzantine churches, see Venetian structures and ancient Roman remains. Do not miss seeing the Temple of the Five Virgins, carved into a rock just outside Argyropolis.
