In the summer period, the water levels get lower and around the lake there are many nice sandy beaches where you can relax. On Kournas Lake you can ride a paddle boat or swim in the warm waters. Another place worth visiting is the tourist town of Georgioupolis, which is only four kilometers away from the hotel. There are many interesting things for the tourists, including a lively harbor, and the St. Nicolas Chapel, which is a great spot for snapping pictures built on an attractive artificial pier in the Cretan Sea.

Besides the mentioned places, a couple of kilometers away from Mythos Palace Resort & Spa you will find some really charming villages worth visiting. Gavalochori, Vamos and Vrysses are some very nice places, full of historical points of interest, monasteries, museums and many other interesting things.
