Playa del Secreto Holidays

Playa del Secreto, or the ‘Secret Beach’, is a one kilometer long white sandy beach, located on the Riviera Maya. The beach is around fifty kilometers away from the popular resort town of Cancun. The shore of this beach is a nesting ground for the giant sea turtles that often visit the beach between May and October. The green forest behind Playa del Secreto is a home of rich wildlife, including wild boars, deer and foxes. There are plenty of bird species as well, so nature lovers would love this place. Playa del Secreto is a peaceful beach without too many tourist facilities, but many popular nightclubs, restaurants and shops are located just about twenty minutes away.

Playa del Secreto has a nice warm weather all year long, with average summer temperatures around 30 C. Even the winter months are pleasant for swimming and sunbathing with average temperatures above 20 C.

Playa del Secreto is away from the noisy resort towns, which makes it ideal spot for relaxation and enjoying a sunny day. It is a very quiet, but stunningly beautiful beach. Waters are very shallow and warm, which makes it very children-friendly beach. On the beach there are a few interesting infrastructures that are getting powered by the wind and the sun. There is just a small community of few private houses, some bungalows, cottages and a hotel resort. Most of the homeowners rent their houses, as there are not many accommodation options on this beach. Here you can peacefully swim and snorkel, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes in the behind.

The road that leads to this beautiful beach goes through attractive mangroves, where you can admire many attractive tropical birds and iguanas. As soon as you reach the beach you will enjoy the peace and quiet, because it is not very frequented by tourists. Some parts of the beach have sands that are completely intact. There are a few nice spots for diving and snorkelers will enjoy the coral reefs that are very close to the beach. The sea waters are also rich with exotic sea species, as well as rays, octopuses and crabs. An interesting addition to the quiet beach community of Playa del Secreto is the Hacienda del Secreto. This hacienda is consisted of three large luxury villas, each of them equipped with private swimming pool. This attractive complex also has a few great facilities for hosting weddings and beach parties.

Playa del Secreto is mostly used as a destination for spending a daily excursion. It is ideal place for spending a nice day relaxing on the beach and experiencing a quiet atmosphere. Younger generations mostly go to other popular holiday coastal towns, while Playa del Secreto is attractive to families and couples that wish to spend a romantic holiday. Most of the attractions are not very far away from Playa del Secreto, so regardless whether you are spending your entire holiday here or you are coming on an excursion – Playa del Secreto is a must visit beach.
