Saint James is a parish located on the western coast of Barbados. It is a well known place for attracting famous and rich, mainly because of its fantastic beaches and amazing scenery. Holetown is the biggest town in this parish, and that is the place where the first British settlers came on Barbados in the 17th century. There is one very attractive Holetown Festival that lasts for two weeks each February, celebrating the arrival of the British with lots of dances, street fairs and parades. Every parish on Barbados has an own church, and the St James Parish Church is the oldest on the entire island. It dates back from the early 17th century, but it has been reconstructed many times because of hurricanes damaging it in the past.
