Found on the southeastern coast of Kos Island, Kardamena is unlike most vacation destinations on Kos Island as it is known as one of the premier destinations for those looking to have an amazing, party-hard holiday that is filled with wonderful nightlife, incredible beaches, as well as countless gastronomic adventures just waiting to be taken.

Kardemena Nightlife

Though Kardamena used to just be a quaint little fishing village not all that long ago, it has since blossomed into not only one of the most popular, but one of the most lively and exciting holiday destinations on all of Kos Island. However, because Kardamena is situated so close to Kos Town, if you felt like comparing the two nightlife scenes while on vacation, you absolutely could. Kos Town is actually only about a half-hour drive from Kardemna, and if you do not feel like a rental car and driving your self while on vacation, there are numerous car services and shuttle buses that make the commute between the two cities.

Kardemena Beaches

While the nightlife is one of the main attractions that has been drawing tourists to Kardamena for years, it is far from the only attraction that the town can offer. Like most places on Kos Island, Kardamena has an absolutely brilliant 3-km stretch of soft, silvery sand that stretches out to the warm sea - perfect for relaxing on during the days in one of the many sun loungers that dot the beach. Because what makes an extravagant night out on the town after spending the entire time beforehand relaxing out in the sun and the surf, soaking in some rays.

The beach is also lined with many fully stocked bars and restaurants, so you are never too far away from quenching the thirst, or refueling yourself with the quick meal in order to have energy to continue relaxing on the beach. However, the beach is also known for its huge variety of water support offerings. One of the most popular of these activities is fishing off of one of the piers, and what makes this experience unique is that a few of the seafront restaurants will actually cook what you catch for you, as long as you book the meal. There is also snorkeling, scuba diving and even jet skis for rent - if you are truly feeling adventurous.

While the main beach is beautiful, it can also sometimes get crowded, but never fear as there are a few other quieter spots towards each other extreme end of the beach that are perfect for more laid back, and family-friendly beach time.

Kardamena Excursions

One of the none party activities available to those staying in Kardamena is a boat ride out to the island of Nisyros. The capital of the island, Mandraki, is known for its gorgeous whitewashed houses as well as the 15th-century monastery sits on the hill above the town. There is also the village of Nikia to explore. This the village is located right on the rim of a volcanic crater, and is full of homes with brilliantly bright colored doors, and the town square that is paved with black pebbles.
