Located on the northern end of the island, Portinatx boasts three beautiful beaches: S'Arenal Gros, the largest of the three; S'Arenal Petit, the most private of the beaches; and Playa Porto Beach. It is far from clubbing country, but the Portinatx resort is more family friendly because of this. The shallow waters off of the beaches also makes it ideal for families with younger children. Likewise, the bars and restaurants surrounding the beaches all have a very family-first vibe to them. This sentiment is echoed all throughout the entertainment options throughout the resort, too. And, because the resort is a little smaller than a lot of the other Ibiza Island resorts, it is not unheard of to run into other families and to be able to set up play-dates with your kids. After all, nothing is better than making new friends on vacation.

The landscape - which was the setting for the film South Pacific - is an absolute breathtaking spectacle all on its own. The moment you step foot on the resort you will understand why this area was so easily chosen to represent paradise on film. This scenery is not just easy on the eyes, though. It can also be an activity on its own, as the local landscape provides plenty of opportunities to take long, beautiful walks up to the Lighthouse in the Balearics, which offers stunning views of cliffs that drop off sharply into the Mediterranean waters.
