Weather in Bournemouth

Bournemouth has a mild climate. Swimming and sunbathing is ideal from June to August when the average temperatures are around 22 C. Winter months are not very cold, with December and January having average temperatures of 8 C. Rainfall usually occurs from October until December, and spring months are also very nice and relatively warm.

Bournemouth Entertainment

In the recent years Bournemouth attracts large numbers of youth population seeking for fun and entertainment. Its distance from London is about 150 kilometers, and in the town center there are lots of pubs, bars, restaurants and energetic nightclubs. Besides younger generations, older population is also attracted to Bournemouth thanks to the many top quality spa centers and hotels.

Bournemouth Beach

Bournemouth is most popular for its fine and sandy Blue Flag beach that stretches for over ten kilometers. Bournemouth Pier is located on the beach and it has an arcade, some shops, a fair, theatre, and from the Pier you can go on many boat trips. There is also a Victorian Carousel on which you can take a ride. The beach is very clean and children-friendly, well equipped with many facilities. There are many possibilities for water sports such as windsurfing, jet-skiing or kite-boarding.

Around Bournemouth

The center of Bournemouth is built with Victorian architecture. St.Peter`s Church is a very attractive place to visit. In the town there are many nice shops for any budgets, as well as large stores and outlets. You can find everything ranging from designer boutiques to antique shops. Bournemouth Eye is another nice attraction in the town. Take a trip with a tethered balloon and watch the town from the sky for impressive views over Bournemouth and its coastline. Those interested in history should not miss visiting Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, where you can see lots of artifacts and art collections dating from the 19th century. Bournemouth Oceanarium and Central Gardens are great for those that want to spend relaxing afternoons, while Bournemouth International Center is a place where lots of exhibitions and concerts are taking place. In the month of August there is one very attractive festival called Bournemouth Air Festival that attracts many tourists. From Bournemouth you can also take a short trip to Christchurch, which is a town about twenty kilometers away. There you will find a priory dating from the 11th century and enjoy spectacular views from its tower.
