When it comes to nightlife and shopping, Liverpool has wide variety of options. You will find plenty of trendy bars, pubs, nightclubs, bistros and restaurants. Lots of nighttime entertainment options are available at Seel Street and Hardman Street. Liverpool ONE is the main shopping district near the Albert Dock where you will find almost two hundred stores of any kind. The Metquarter is another popular shopping destination, while if you want to see something a bit different visit the Chinatown where you will find a big Chinese open market, usually held on Sundays.
Liverpool is also great for taking relaxing boat tours on the River Mersey. Boat tours usually start at Albert Dock and in summer you can travel to the popular old fort in New Brighton. Other excursions that you can take from Liverpool include visiting Southport, which is about thirty kilometers away from Liverpool. It is a place with many nice sandy beaches and an attractive iron pier. The nearby Wirral Peninsula is also popular place to visit with a beautiful coastline, great botanic gardens and a few quiet villages.
