Leeds is a very nice city to visit in every month of the year, but the summer months offer the best weather. Winters are usually cold and snowy, while October and November are the rainiest months. Spring months are usually pleasantly warm with occasional rain showers.

Leeds is a great place for going on walking tours. In the area around Leeds there are over hundred kilometers of circular walking paths. Bikers will love the West Yorkshire Cycle circular route which stretches to almost 250 kilometers. Golfers can enjoy in one of the four golf courses around city of Leeds – Gotts Park, Middleton Park, Roundhay Park and Temple Newsam. Golf lovers will be impressed with the Moortown Golf Club which was the host of The Ryder Cup back in 1929.

Leeds offers lots of shopping opportunities. From large retailers to smaller boutiques and designer stores - you have wide variety of options. There are over four kilometers of traffic-free streets in Leeds where you can choose between thousands of different stores. Leeds has a very compact city centre and the city is best explored on foot. It is about ten kilometers away from Leeds and it houses art galleries, over hundred acres of fantastic gardens, a bird garden with flamingos, penguins and owls, and the Yorkshire Planetarium. Harewood House also features ornate fireplaces, large family portraits, interesting furniture and attractive rooms. Leventhorpe Vineyard is another great place to visit. It was established three decades ago and it spreads on large land of five acres. It is open daily and there you can sample some great white and red wines. Yorkshire Sculpture Park is also attractive park to see with interesting art dating from the 18th century.
