From Cayo Santa Maria you can go on boat excursions and explore the many attractive small islets and keys in the area. If you want to go inlands, visit the nice towns of Caibarien and Remedios or go further to Santa Clara. Santa Clara is a couple of hours bus drive away from Cayo Santa Maria and there you can go visit the Museum of Decorative Arts and see the attractive monument of Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara.
