Choc Bay Holidays

Choc Bay is a beautiful bay located on the northwestern coast of St Lucia. This bay is very close to the town of Castries, and all major hotel resorts, markets and shopping centers are within short trip. Choc Bay is especially popular among families with children because of its shallow, calm and warm waters, which makes it ideal spot for swimming and playing in the water. The beach is secluded, family-friendly and very peaceful, but still very close to the popular places nearby. If you seek to get away from some of the more urban areas and crowded resorts – Choc Bay is the place to visit.

Visitors of Choc Bay can enjoy warm weather all year long. Average year-round temperatures range between 25 C and 32 C, while the sea temperature is always near 30 C.

The main beach in Choc Bay can be easily accessed from everywhere and there is a nice parking area for visitors that come with their cars. The beautiful stretch of white powdery sand is backed with lots of coconut palms, which also provide a bit of shade for those that do not want to be exposed to the sun rays all the time. The small Rat Island nearby is very nice to visit if you want to take a break from the beach. On Choc Bay beach you will find one nice snack bar where you can get some refreshments, and there are also several mobile vendors that sell snacks. Nearby restaurants serve fresh seafood, but you will also find some good restaurants that serve Caribbean or European food.

Choc Bay is an ideal spot for snorkelers, so you can rent some snorkeling gear if you want to explore the rich marine life in the waters in and around the bay. Besides Choc Bay beach, there are a few other beaches nearby that you can explore. Vigie Beach is just around one kilometer away, known for its nice and long sandy beach. Malabar Beach is less than one kilometer away, while those interested in different water sport activities and parties should visit Donkey Beach located a couple of kilometers further north.

Choc Bay is a good place for spending a peaceful holiday, going on an excursion, or you can use it as a base for exploring the area. There is one interesting museum worth visiting nearby called St Lucia Folk Research Centre. Take a break from the sunshine and check out some interesting things in this centre. The closest town which you can visit from Choc Bay is the Castries. It is about three kilometers away from the bay and there you can find lots of interesting things. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars or you can relax at its harbor. Castries also has a charming old town and one very large cathedral which you can visit. From Choc Bay you can go on numerous boat excursions, fishing trips, or catamaran trips to the nearby places and other attractions.
