Malamar Beach Holidays

Malabar Beach is located on the northern coast of St Lucia, close to the town of Castries. Although it is still largely unspoiled beach, it does attract a fair share of visitors looking to relax on a beautiful golden sandy beach. Malabar Beach stretches for over three kilometers and it is ideally situated between the Vigie Airport and the popular Choc Beach. That makes it very easily accessible beach for those that choose to spend their holiday on the northwestern coast of St Lucia - the most popular and most attractive tourist area on the island.

Malabar Beach has a nice tropical weather all year long, with average year-round temperatures in the upper 20s C. Months between December and April are usually the busiest with tourists, while the low season is between May and November.

Malabar Beach might not be as popular as some of the other beaches on the northern coast, but many visitors that visit this beach at least once often come over and over again. It has everything necessary for spending a nice holiday, and it equally attracts families, couples and solo-travelers. On this beach there are numerous options for water sports, such as windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba diving or sailing. It is conveniently located just outside the town of Castries, and it can be easily accessed on foot, by car or by boat.

There not so many large hotel resorts in the area around Malabar Beach, but there are some smaller hotels that offer all kinds of entertainment and different programs for their visitors. On Malabar Beach you will find umbrellas and beach chairs for rent, some beach bars and snack bars, but there are no public restrooms. Right of the beach you will also find the interesting Rat Island which you can visit as a part of your excursions. Malabar Beach is very close to many popular dining spots and shops. There are also some mobile vendors that sell food or beverages on the beach. One of the closest restaurants to Malabar Beach is one very popular and quality Chinese restaurant. It is located just around two hundred meters from the beach and it is almost always full. The delicious soups and chicken dishes served there are very popular.

If you want to explore the region around Malabar Beach, you can go check out the interesting Choc Cemetery which is one of the few attractive spots to visit in the area. If you want to learn more about the culture and history of St Lucia then you should consider visiting the beautiful museum – St Lucia Folk Research Centre. It is just five minutes drive away and you can also reach it by taking a short relaxing walk by the beach. The attractive old town of Castries is just about two kilometers away from the Malabar Beach and it is another place worth visiting. There you have many shopping and dining options or you can go sightseeing and check out some of the historic buildings and squares.
