Soufriere is a charming little town located on the western coast of St Lucia. In the past it served as a capital city of the island, and today it largely relies on tourism thanks to the many attractions in the town and in the area surrounding the town. Soufriere has a very picturesque harbor, a nice town center, and a beautiful rainforest located at the base of a magnificent and unique drive-through volcano. Diamond Falls are a natural attraction, part of the Soufriere Estate. They are very interesting to see, with their waters tumbling down from a volcano.
Nature lovers will also appreciate the Soufriere Rainforest. It has numerous hiking trails and areas that offer amazing views on the coast. The rainforest is also a home of rich wildlife and many attractive waterfalls. The Enbas Saut Trail in the rainforest stretches to over five kilometers, and this trail is one of the most picturesque trails you can find. There you can admire some rare bird species like the St Lucian parrot, the Mountain Whistler or the Black Finch. If you are more interested in beach activities and swimming, then you can visit the close resort of Anse Chastanet, which has one amazingly beautiful beach.
