Nearby you will also find the biggest center for go-karts in the Caribbean, consisting of three great racing tracks. You can easily explore Playa Dorada on foot or you can ride carriages that take tourists up and down in the resort.

If you still want to explore and see more, town of Puerto Plata is just five minutes away. There you can check out some interesting buildings and historic places, such as the 16th century fortress or go visit a rum distillery. Cable-car rides to the nearby mountain are also very popular, from where you can enjoy stunning views on the coastline. Besides Puerto Plata there are a few smaller beach resorts close to Playa Dorada worth checking out.
