There is even a promenade leading from the beach to the row of bars and restaurants which makes jumping from soaking in the sun and the surf right to a delicious seafood dinner a flawless transition.

Things to do in Bahia Feliz

When staying in Bahia Feliz a day trip to the island's capital Las Palmas is a must-do. The capital is only a 40 min. drive from the core of Bahia Feliz, and the drive is such a wonderfully picturesque journey that it will feel like even less time. Once you arrive in Las Palmas you will have to time your day our perfectly, because there is so much to take in. The capital is known for its beautiful cathedrals and local architecture as much as it is for the luscious green parks full of exotic plant life. Tucked away in the old Vegueta quarter of the town are two free to visit museums as well as the beautiful cobbled streets and an old colonial building that has recently been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. If all of the culture and heritage sights are a little overwhelming for some of the younger travellers in your group, you could always spend some of your time in Las Palmas soaking in the sun on it's beautiful beach La Playa de las Cantera, which also happens to be the home of some of the most epic fish restaurants on the island.

As far as planning when to visit Bahia Feliz goes, you would truly be hard-pressed to find a bad time of year to visit. The town shares the same Mediterranean climate as most of the Gran Canaria Island, which means that the winter months are rather mild with temperatures dancing around the 20 C mark, and that skyrockets into the high 30 C come the sweet, sweet summer time. You should also have no worries when it comes to having your vacation rained out, because the island does not get many rainy days, especially not in chunks. So, even if you has the odd shower on your trip, the chances are you will be able to hit the beach the very next day!
