The Hotel Club de Mar has rooms available that overlook the beach as well as the marina, so you can be fully engrossed in what the locals call La Venecia de Canarias, or the Venice of the Canaries.

The beach has seen a lot of development over the last decade or so, as the area directly behind it has been built up with luxurious apartment buildings, but the beach is still covered in soft, golden sand imported from the Sahara. There are plenty of sun loungers, pedaloes, parasols and canoes for rent on the beach, which means you will always be able to be as comfortable, or as adventurous as you want to be while soaking in the sun and the surf in Puerto de Mogan.

The resort offers big-game fishing excursions for those looking to add a little island thrills to their vacation, as well as submarine trips that tour around local ship wreck sites. Of course, when it comes to underwater discovery, there is also diving schools so you can take in the majestic underwater world from outside the submarine.

As one may assume, a lot of the restaurants on and around the resort specialize in serving locally caught fish, as well as Canarian and Spanish speciality dishes. However, there are also Italian, German and Chinese restaurants around the resort if seafood is not your thing.
