Those visiting Gouves will likely be spending a lot of time on one of the Blue Flag rated beaches, soaking in the warm sun and enjoying the beautiful, warm, and clear water. These beaches are often dotted with many umbrellas as locals and tourists all spread out to enjoy a day in the sun and sand nearly any time they can. Of course, the beaches are able to be enjoyed more than just wading in waist deep, or soaking in the sun. You can sip on some coffee at a local cafe, or restaurant. Or, if adventure is more up your alley, you can enjoy the surf from a rented canoe, or banana boat. You can even partake in parasailing or scuba diving.

Gouves Excursions

While staying in Gouves, a day trip to the capital city, Heraklion, is an absolute must do day trip because there you can take in some of the most fantastic shopping experiences at the designer boutiques, as well as explore the Venetian ports and the walled in old city. Here tourists can also take in some of Greece's brilliant history by exploring archaeological museums filled with ancient relics and restored elements dating back to the Palace of Knossos.

Once all of your shopping and sight seeing is done for the day, do not head back to your hotel hungry, as Heraklion is also home to some of the finest dining establishments in all of Greece.

When you are planning a visit to Gouves you do not have to worry about too much, at all. The weather here, like in most places in Greece, will provide you with plenty of warmth and sunshine during the summer months.
