Lindos is a beautiful ancient town located on the southeastern part of Rhodes, just about fifty kilometers away from the capital Rhodes Town. Rich history, fantastic beaches and great nightlife is what makes Lindos a very popular holiday destination on Rhodes Island. Above the town is the famous Acropolis which offers amazing views on the Lindos Bay and the coastline. Town of Lindos has a very nice architecture. All of its ancient rulers have left some mark in the development of the town. In Lindos you will find plenty of lovely chapels and churches. Church of Panagia has very attractive paintings inside. The Church of Virgin Mary is another impressive place to see, full of frescoes dating back from the 15th century.

In the month of June there is one very attractive annual rock festival called “Rhodes Rock”. It attracts rock music lovers from everywhere, and this three-day festival of Rock features lots of cover bands, tribute bands and many popular Rock groups. The Rhodes Rock Festival is held at the ancient amphitheatre in Lindos and attracts large crowds every year.
Another interesting event to attend is the World Tourism Day held in the month of September. This event promotes Rhodes tourism industry to the visitors. All towns and villages take part in the festivities and have their stands on Lindos main square. During this event the main square is turned into a big stage where everybody gathers to enjoy good food, music and dancing.
