Cala Dor Holidays

Cala d`Or is a relatively small holiday resort on the eastern coast of Majorca. This is a popular place for spending vacation of German, British and central-European tourists. Couples and families with children are the most frequent tourists in this resort, and this is a great place for a relaxing holiday. Cala d`Or is consisted of seven bays, six of them have private beaches while the seventh is a harbor for fancy boats, yachts and restaurants. July and August are the busiest months of the year, when the temperatures of both sea and air are the warmest.

Cala d`Or stretches around three kilometers, and the holiday resort is divided in two parts. The center and the old town are in one part and the other part is Cala Egos. What makes Cala d`Or different from other resorts is its overall look and design. Heights of houses and buildings are limited, and most of them have unified white look.

Cala d`Or Beaches

Cala d`Or has five different beaches which are very small. Their sizes are between thirty and sixty meters, and Cala Gran is the biggest. All of the five beaches have almost similar look, and beaches are small because of their location in an around sheltered coves. Because of their smaller dimensions, you should have in mind that all of Cala d`Or five beaches are crowded in the busiest July-August period.

Cala d`Or Marina

Cala d`Or Marina is a nice place to visit, especially at night when lots of tourists sit in numerous good restaurants that offer local, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, German and British food. In the center of the town you will find great selection of smaller cafés and restaurants for every taste.

Village of Felanitx

If you want to see something interesting you should visit the close village called Felanitx, where there is a pretty big open market, usually held on Sundays. Here you can find lots of handmade work, souvenirs and other interesting things. Also, you can join various excursions and boat trips along the coastline and see lots of nice ports and coves. Visiting the beautiful Mondragon National Park is a must, where you will find some great vegetation and interesting wildlife. Other activities you can enjoy in Cala d`Or include playing tennis for free on quality tennis courts located within hotel resorts, cycling, diving, snorkeling and hiking in the nearby mountains.

Cala d`Or is a peaceful and quiet place, so nightlife is not that rich. Families are the main visitors of this place, so there are no big discotheques or nightclubs. However, there are a few bars that are open late at night when people can socialize and have some drinks. There is one disco that works until early hours of the morning, so that is the option for the partygoers.

Overall, Cala d`Or is a charming little resort, mostly targeting families and older couples. Although the resort itself does not have a rich history as other tourist places, it still offers fun activities to the visitors. Regardless of your age, you can still find something interesting to do in and around Cala d`Or.
