Cala Millor stands out as the biggest resort on the Majorcan east coast. This holiday spot has grown a lot in the past four decades, and today it is a typical vacationing spot for traditional tourists from northern Europe. With its nice, warm weather all year long, many shops and retail stores, hotels and restaurants – it attracts tourists from different age groups. It is a very lively and colorful place, and its long sandy beach is always full of vacationers.
Although Cala Millor is a lot bigger place then it was ten or twenty years ago, it still has a unique atmosphere and distinct character. Cala Millor`s main beach is over two kilometers long and stretches all the way to Punt de N`Amer, which is the place that separates Cala Millor with Sa Coma. Cala Millor has many different types of restaurants, ranging from popular fast food chains to more sophisticated eateries. The nightlife is very vibrant and lively, and most of the bars and pubs are filled with people at night. There are a couple of big discos located on the main boulevard that offer great parties for the younger generation. If you want a bit calmer atmosphere then you can choose between several pretty good cafés that have nice, wide terraces overlooking the sea. In Calla Millor you can find many handcraft shops that sell interesting souvenirs. Cala Millor does not have an open market, but if you go inlands towards Sant Llorenc you can find a big market which is usually held on Thursdays. If you want to explore more, then you can go to the place called Porto Cristo and see the Dragon Caves. You can also take part in half-day and full day excursions in the ancient town of Arta, take trips with boats that have glass bottoms, visit African wild park located outside of the town, visit the pearl factory in Manacor, Monastery of San Salvador or the fishing village of Cala Figures.
