Playa de la Arena Holidays

Playa de la Arena is another popular holiday resort, located on the western side of Tenerife coast. Playa de la Arena used to be a very small place, but with the expansion of the nearby places Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago, it is to be expected for these three resorts to be merged into one big holiday resort in the upcoming years. This resort is more suitable for those people that want to have a quieter vacation. The nightlife is not as energetic as in the neighboring resorts, but you can quickly reach other destinations from here. There are lots of bars here, and some of the hotels also offer good night entertainment. However, this is a mainly resort aimed at families and couples that look to spend a nice, relaxing holiday.

Playa de la Arena Beach

This holiday resort has a small, but noisy and busy beach. The beach has volcanic, dark sand. The best thing is that is completely natural, and is not imported like on many other resorts on Tenerife. There is also a lifeguard on the beach, there are plenty of showers for the visitors, and you can also hire sunbeds if you wish. Behind the beach is the beautiful promenade where most of the bars and restaurants are located. The coastline is rugged, but very pretty. Interesting sand color in combination with big palm trees and amazing sunsets on the horizon may give you the impression like you are on some kind of tropical resort. Most of the days throughout the year are sunny. There is not much rainfall here, even in the out of season months.

Playa de la Arena Entertainment

Besides lying on the beach and swimming in the ocean, you can do a few other things when spending a vacation here. There are some great tapas bars where you can taste local cuisine, or you can take a boat trip to the beautiful nearby resort of Los Gigantes. There are also day trips to the Masca village where you can see the real island life. Teide National Park and its Mount Teide are also great places to visit, or you may join an excursion to Puerto Santiago and see something different. If you want to spend a night in town for clubbing then you can take a bus to Playa de las Americas.

Playa de la Arena is a laid back place, where you are not forced to do anything that you do not want to. You can make up your own schedule and enjoy the chilling atmosphere in this peaceful town. Sometimes this resort is overshadowed from the bigger and livelier places on the southwestern side of Tenerife, but it offers a unique natural beauty that cannot be seen somewhere else. Although you will not find theme parks or amusements parks here, you can still have a great holiday, regardless whether you are coming alone, with your partner or with your family. There are many resorts nearby and you can always explore the wider region for more exciting things.
