Playa Paraiso is a quiet and very small place, located nearly eight kilometers away from the liveliest resort of Playa de las Americas. This resort has a very relaxing and laid-back atmosphere, and you should be aware that this resort is still in process of development and renovation. Some construction works may be noticed in the place, as it tries to redevelop and expand. There are not so many activities you can enjoy here, but a couple of water parks are a short trip away, as well as visiting Mount Teide mountainous region.
Playa Paraiso is ideal for older couples and families that seek calm vacation, but it is not very popular among the younger generations due to the lack of nightlife. Here you can find a few bars here and there, along with some restaurants and other eateries. Entertainment is mostly limited to what hotels have to offer. There are also a couple of shopping centers nearby where you can buy some interesting souvenirs or brand clothing.
The main street in Playa Paraiso is the place where most of the restaurants and cafés are located, but the two shopping centers also have bars and eateries. Playa Paraiso can also serve as a base for exploring the island, although it is located a bit far from the other resorts in the Costa Adeje region. However, you can hire a car or you can use local bus transport which is fairly cheap.
Playa Paraiso has three different tiny beaches that are located in sheltered, rocky bays. The best beach here is Las Galgas, which is located in the northern part of the resort. This beach is also known by the name Playa Paraiso. Its location is between two big hotels, and is mostly frequented by hotel guests. The beach went into renovation recently and it has new golden sand, new sunbeds and a few new showers. The other two beaches are much smaller and are not sandy, but with pebbles and small rocks.
The main beach has nice sand, but the water is a bit deeper and has a rocky coastline. That is why the beach is not very child-friendly. Also, there are no facilities for water sports on any of the beaches. In the summer months drinks can be bought at this beach, and that is all right if you want to relax while sunbathing. Good thing is that the summer months here are very hot with average temperatures around 30 C, which is great for sunbathing. The close resort of Playa Fanabe has more beaches if you want to explore that area for more options.
The main attraction in Playa Paraiso is the saltwater lido which is very large and popular among the tourists. The lagoon shaped pool is located right behind one of the smaller beaches. The lido has a nice waterfall and there are sunbeds around it. You have to pay an entrance fee to enter the saltwater lido, where you can have a meal in the restaurant or visit the scuba diving school that is located here.
