Though the beach is beautiful, and the water is warm, clear, and fantastic, it is hardly the only draw to the area. There are also many marble sculptures located around the area for you to venture around and see and you can also take in some breathtaking views of the island of Delos. While Agios Ioannis is a beautiful place all day long, it is truly at its best when the sun goes down. The view of the sunset is absolutely breathtaking and picturesque. So much so, that this is where the film Shirley Valentine was filmed.

Agios Ioannis Beach

Agios Ioannis is a beach of two souls, as it is broken into two distinct areas by rocks. One side of the beach is dotted with beach umbrellas and also has many sun beds for rent - the perfect area for sunbathing and relaxation. The water along the beachfront is shallow and perfect for young children to splash around in, and there are many restaurants and bars close by so lunch is never too far away; so go ahead and work up an apatite splashing around in the water, or walking up and down the sandy beach.

Agios Ioannis Roadtrips

While the beach is accessible by bus (for those who do not want to rent a car on vacation) there is also plenty of room for parking if you do decide to drive, but more importantly, there is plenty of space on the beach for relaxing and enjoying yourself. Unlike some of the other beaches in the area, Agios Ioannis is not protected by the winds in the area, so you may need to take that in consideration for setting up your umbrellas.

When it comes to taking a trip to Agios Ioannis you never really have to worry about what time of year it is. Greece has amazing weather all-year round, and that translates perfectly for enjoying yourself on any of it's wonderful beaches, especially Agios Ioannis. During the summer months the temperatures usually range in the mid-30s, perfect for bathing in the sun and cooling off in the water. Though, during the fall, it is still a lovely place to visit because the temperatures only drop slightly, balancing out in the mid-20s.
