Kalafati Holidays

Kalafati is one of the top beaches on Mykonos Island, located twelve kilometers east of Mykonos Town. The beach can be easily accessed by a car, bus or by boat. It is a beautiful sandy beach, well organized with plenty of facilities and well connected with other parts of the island. There are plenty of trees along the beach that provide good natural shade, but there are also plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. Clear blue skies in combination with the long golden beach and green trees make perfect scenery. The sea waters in Kalafati are very clear, ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

The weather in and near Kalafati is almost perfect all year long. There is almost five months of sunshine, and months between May and October are great for swimming and sunbathing. Average summer temperatures are around 30 C, while the sea temperature is in the mid-20s C.

Kalafati Restaurants & Hotels

There are many restaurants and hotels close to the Kalafati beach, and this place is very popular for spending a daily excursion. This beach mostly attracts adrenaline seekers and lovers of extreme sports. This is not a beach for lazy sunbathing, but for spending an active day. Due to the strong afternoon winds, Kalafati is perfect for windsurfing. Jet skiing, canoeing, banana riding, wakeboarding, extreme tubing and diving are some of the many water sport activities which you can try. On the beach there is also a quality diving school where you can learn everything about diving. Sometimes in the summer there are all kinds of professional water sport competitions on the beach.

There are several fish tavernas near the beach where you can enjoy Greek cuisine and fresh fish from the sea. All tavernas have nice views on the sea. If you want to take an interesting trip from Kalafati beach you should go on a boat trip to Drakonissi. Drakonissi is a small island with lots of caves which you can explore. Besides boat trips leading to islands nearby, you can also take a bus and visit Mykonos Town where there are plenty of things to see and do.

Kalafati Beach

At one end of the Kalafatis beach you will find the small settlement of Divounia. This very small village has one taverna and a mini-market. The main occupation of the handful of people that live there is fishing. On the opposite side of Kalafatis, within a short distance is the nice and small beach of Agia Anna. There is a small dock where fishing boats come and go and there is one hotel nearby. This beach is also equipped with sunbeds and parasols.
