Psarou is one of the most attractive beaches on Mykonos Island. It is located just about five kilometers away from Mykonos Town, and it is within a relatively short walking distance from Platys Gialos. Psarou has a great weather all year long, with summer temperatures often climbing in the upper 30s C. The water is nice and warm for swimming starting from late April up until early October. Psarou beach has a powder-like golden sand, crystal clear waters and it offers very relaxing atmosphere. It is also very popular beach for honeymooners, romantic couples and young families. In the recent years it also started to attract large number of water sport professionals and enthusiasts, because it has great conditions for waterskiing and windsurfing. It also has a quality scuba diving school on the spot.

Behind the beach there is lush scenery, many luxurious hotels and fancy bars and restaurants. There is even a sushi bar near the beach for those that want to try something different. The prices at this beach are normally higher than at the other beaches on the island. Psarou beach can be accessed by several different ways. It can be reached by taking a bus that will leave you at the bus stop in the nearby Platys Gialos. You can also come with a car or a bike, but you will have to drive down on a steep terrain, and you can also come by taking a boat ride from the close Ornos beach.

A thing to have in mind regarding this beach is that you often need to make reservations for umbrellas or sunbeds before you come to the beach. This is because of the fact that in the summer there is usually a very high demand for such beach services, and there are simply not enough places for everyone that wants to come. If you come without reservations sometimes you may see very long lines of people waiting for sunbeds.

Some things you can do near Psarou beach is visit the neighboring village of Platys Gialos. There you will find some shops, cafés, taverns and markets. You can also rent a bicycle or a motorbike and explore the wider area around Psarou beach. One very popular place on Psarou beach is the Nammos Restaurant, attracting VIP people and those that want to enjoy having a meal in an exclusive restaurant. It has a nice wide terrace and an own private beach. There you can taste some great fresh seafood that is prepared by some of the best chefs in the world.

Psarou beach also offers lively night entertainment with some live music performances, dancing shows and beach parties.
