Argassi Holidays

Argassi is a popular tourist resort located on the southern coast of Zakynthos Island. It is just four kilometers away from the capital Zakynthos Town, and it has a very attractive long beach. Being very close to the capital means that Argassi is frequently visited by tourists, so in the summer months the resort is often very crowded. Argassi is located on the foot of the beautiful Mount Skopos. Mountain of Skopos is nearly 800 meters high and from the top of it you can enjoy some fantastic views on the entire island. The scenery around Argassi is wonderful with lots of olive and lemon gardens, wildflowers and pine forests. Argassi is also blessed with good weather for the bigger part of the year. Being located on the southern coast means that there is plenty of sunshine throughout the year, with July and August receiving twelve hours of sunshine per day. Average summer temperatures are around 30 C, and the sea temperature is in the mid 20s C.

Argassi offers everything a visitor needs. The beach is very long and nice, there are plenty of shops and bars, and the nightlife is pretty good as well. The main road goes through Argassi and it is lined up with all kinds of markets and shops, tavernas and restaurants. On the main street you will also find plenty of bakeries, gift shops and leatherwear shops.

Argassi Beach

Argassi Beach stretches to almost one kilometer. There are lots of possibilities for watersports on the beach, such as riding banana boats, jet-skiing, waterskiing, or riding pedaloes. You can rent sun loungers and umbrellas if you wish, and there are plenty of beach bars and snack kiosks where you can get refreshments. Lots of hotels are built close by the beach, and the beach usually attracts lots of tourists in the summer months.

Most of the activities in Argassi revolve around the beach and the main road. Everything is very close, so the resort is very convenient for the tourists. Argassi attracts people of all age groups and anyone can find something interesting to do or see. Younger generations are attracted with the variety of bars, pubs, nightclubs and the good range of water sports, while the families enjoy the numerous restaurants, children playgrounds and interesting shops.

Argassi Nightlife

Argassi nightlife is very rich and energetic. There are all kinds of clubs and bars for any taste. There are plenty of English-themed pubs and sports bars, and most of the bars organize karaoke nights, bingo or quiz competitions, as well as group watching of football games. In Argassi you will be entertained at all times and you will never feel bored.

If you want to take a short break from Argassi and explore the wider area - Zakynthos Town is just a ten minute drive away with a tourist train. There you can relax at the harbor or visit some of the numerous churches. You can also take a walk on the narrow streets and admire the attractive architecture.
