Vassilikos Holidays

Vassilikos is a tourist resort and a region on a peninsula in the southeastern part of Zakynthos. It is more rural part of Zakynthos with a lush vegetation, olive groves, vineyards, pine and cypress trees, as well as with local agricultural farms. Vassilikos Beaches

If you are looking for amazing beaches and beautiful sea, then Vassilikos is the right choice. There are plenty of beaches where you can enjoy and relax. St.Nicholas, Banana, Porto Zorro, Daphne and Gerakas are some beaches where you can go. All of them are different, but all of them are great. Some attract visitors with their water sport facilities and beach bars, while others are less crowded and quieter. No matter which one you visit you will definitely find soft golden sands and crystal-clear waters. All beaches are children-friendly thanks to the shallow waters.

Getting around Vassilikos

Vassilikos is well connected with the capital Zakynthos Town with regular bus lines. You can also rent a car, a bike or bicycle and explore the wider region. There are plenty of tavernas in the region of Vassilikos, not just by the main road, but also near the beaches. You can choose between traditional fish restaurants, grill houses or international restaurants. Some restaurants organize live music nights as well. When it comes to nightlife, Vassilikos has a few good music bars and some pubs. There are no big nightclubs or discos, but some bars organize music nights and other forms of entertainment for the tourists during the summer months. In Vassilikos are you will find many shops offering all kinds of things, ranging from leather goods, ceramics, souvenirs or clothing. Most of the shops and markets are lined up along the busy main road. There are also some interesting gift shops where you can buy turtle souvenirs and traditional products made of almonds and honey.

The region of Vassilikos has plenty of trails and tracks which you can explore. The scenery is amazing and the nature lovers would appreciate the scenic routes near the coastline and in the forests. Visiting some of the small inland villages is well worth it, where you will see lots of beautiful whitewashed houses between vineyards and olive groves. Volimes is a nice place to visit, about one hour drive away from Vassilikos. There are many churches and monasteries which you can explore there, as well as different shops where you can buy quality ceramics, carpets, or locally produced honey, olive oil and cheese.
