Universal Studios

Universal Studios is one of the top major film studios in North America, and about 75% of the studio's property is found in Universal City, with the remaining percentage scattered throughout Los Angeles. Though, Universal City houses more than just the studio property, as it is also home to the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, Universal CityWalk shopping district and entertainment centre, as well as the Universal Studios set and back lot.

Universal City Attractions

The original Universal Studios Hollywood Park was created as a way to show off the Universal Studios set, and give to others of the lot. However, things have grown exponentially since then, and the park is now one of the first full-fledged studio theme parks with rides, interactive experiences and many, many shops.

Universal Studios Hollywood is divided into two very distinct levels that are connected by a series of escalators referred to in the park as the Starway, the sections referred to as the upper and lower lots. The lots are home to a lot of family-friendly attractions and is home to interactive affair such as Shrek 4-D, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and other rides based off of Universal films (like Jurassic Park and Jaws.) Here, visitors can also take two wears which usually add up to 45 to 60 min. and use trams to travel throughout the park, and through the back lot where visitors can peek in on films and TV shows actually being filmed.

Overall, Universal Studios Hollywood is home to about nine rides, and seven shows, as well as a large outdoor play area perfect for younger children. Universal City also home to quite a few restaurants in order to fuel your travels throughout the studio. Naturally, a lot of the restaurants and bars have universal film and TV show themes to them. So, you will be able to eat like a character from Harry Potter, or even have lunch in Springfield with members of the Simpsons family.
