Corfu Holidays

Corfu Island is one of the nicest, greenest and most attractive Greek islands. It is located on the farthest northern part of Greece, west of Albania and east of Italy. Corfu Island is not very long. It is about forty kilometers long and it lies on the Ionian Sea. The climate is very pleasant and warm, typical of the Mediterranean places. Summers are usually very hot and dry, but the mountainous region is a little bit cooler. Months between November and March usually receive the most rainfall, and the Island is a home to a few million olive trees.

Mount Pantocrator

In the center of the Corfu Island is the famous Mount Pantocrator, which is the highest on the Corfu Island with over 900 meters in height. Northern part of the island is mountainous and rockier, while the southern part has more sandy beaches.

What Corfu Can Offer

Corfu has a lot to offer. Besides beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters, Corfu is an island rich of history. There is a strong influence of French and British cultures, and the architecture reflects that. Corfu is ideal for any kind of holiday, regardless whether you are a solo traveler, a couple, group or a family. It is a very safe island, and it has a relaxing atmosphere. Along the coast you will find numerous untouched natural beaches, hidden coves and sheltered bays. If you go inlands you will enjoy fantastic scenery and beautiful traditional villages unspoiled by the mass tourism. There are some abandoned villages where you can just admire the surrounding beauty.

Old Perithia

Old Perithia is one of the oldest villages on the island that you must visit. It is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and is situated near the Mount Pantocrator. There is a big watchtower in the village, offering great views on the Ionian Sea. There are many houses in the village, most of them deserted, built with a strong Venetian influence. Here you will also see some very nice churches situated between oak trees.

Corfu Old Town

Corfu`s Old Town is one of the most beautiful places to visit. It is hard to explain all of its beauty, but it is a very charming place with many narrow streets, historical spots and beautiful churches.

Achillion Palace

Achillion Palace is one of the main attractions on the Corfu Island. This palace is in the Gastouri village, and it is located in between wonderful green gardens. From here you have direct views on the Corfu Town and the sea.

Achillion Monasteries & Churches

Corfu`s old monasteries and churches, as well as nice towns such as Paleokastritsa, Kassiopi, Benitses or Kerkyra, kid`s favorite – Aqualand, and numerous boat trips to nearby islands make Corfu a perfect place for spending a holiday. These are just a few attractions on the island, but there are lots of other places to visit and things to see. Corfu is a very attractive place for tourists of all ages, and most of the people that visit Corfu once usually come back over and over again.
