Dassia Holidays

Dassia is mostly low-key, family-friendly resort, situated on the eastern side of the Corfu Island. It is about fifteen kilometers away from the Corfu Town, and it is nested in front of a pinewood forest. Dassia is a relatively small village, with most of the bars, shops and restaurants located along the busy main road. This resort is closely connected with the neighboring resort Ipsos, which is about one kilometer north and can be easily reached on foot. Nightlife in Dassia is a bit calmer than Ipsos where most of the bars and clubs are located.

Dassia Weather

Dassia has a nice warm weather between May and September, while months between November and February usually receive most rainfall. Average summer temperatures in Dassia are in the low 30s C, and the spring season is also very nice for spending a relaxing holiday by the beach.

Dassia Hotels and Beaches

Although a fairly small resort, Dassia has a handful of large hotels and a very lively main beach. The beach is not very wide; it is made of pebble and shingle and stretches for about couple of hundred meters. Beach turns into sand inside the water, which is clear and shallow. The beach is awarded with Blue Flag for quality and there are plenty of opportunities for water sports on it. Behind the beach there are some nice cafés and bars where you can get some rest from swimming and sunbathing. Olive trees provide good shades in behind, and on the beach you can hire a boat if you want to do a little exploring to the nearby places.

Dassia holiday resort is around one kilometer long, and through the resort runs the main road which is very busy in the summer period. Most of the Tavernas, bars, shops and markets are on the side of the main road. There are several tracks that lead from the main road directly to the main beach.

Dassia Nightlive

Summer evenings are especially pleasant in Dassia. There is a relaxing atmosphere inside the lively restaurants and Tavernas, and there are no big nightclubs in this village. Most of the young people that like to go partying go to the nearby Ipsos, which is just five minutes away by bus. In Dassia there are many different cuisines to try, and here you will find Greek, Chinese or Indian food. Besides restaurants, there are a few nice bars that offer live music or organize karaoke nights.

Dassia mainly attracts families and couples, but it can also serve as a good base for exploring the wider area. There are many treks inside the forest behind, ideal for hiking and spending time in nature. Boat excursions go regularly from Dassia to the nearby secluded beaches and coves. If you seek something more you can join in a daily excursion to the villages of Kontokali or Gouvia where you can see some ancient remains and old churches. Both of those places can be easily reached within half an hour ride and you can spend a good day exploring two nice villages.
