La Pineda is a great vacation spot, located in the Costa Dorada region, between Tarragona and Salou. La Pineda has lots of pine trees, hence its name. La Pineda in Spain has developed a lot in the past couple of decades and now it is known as a nice holiday destination for both families and younger people. There is a big water park here called Aquopolis, which attracts the families with small children. The water park operates starting from May up until October and it is located very close to the main beach. Town`s main beach is La Pineda Platja, stretching to about three kilometers.

In mid-July you can enjoy the La Virgen del Carmen holiday when the streets of La Pineda are filled with people. This is a holiday to the local sailors, and the evenings usually end up with wonderful fireworks.
Port Aventura theme park is a great location to visit with your family. You can catch a train to visit the place, and trains run all the time during the day. There are plenty of rides and attractions, so it may take up to a couple of days in order for you to explore everything in this park. This theme park is separated in four different theme lands – Mediterranean, Mexico, China and Polynesia. From water slides, pools, rides to shops, bars, live performers and restaurants – here you can find any kind of entertainment for the whole family.
The natural park La Sequia Major is another nice place to visit and this place is protected as a place of natural interest in Catalonia. Here you can take a long walk, enjoy the fresh air and sun, while admiring the surrounding nature. You will find many unique plants and interesting vegetation in this park.
From La Pineda you can take an excursion to the great Benedictine Monastery located in Montserrat. This is a place that attracts lots of pilgrims from around the world and is located up in the mountains between interesting rocky formations.
