Myrtos Bay is situated in the Pylaros region, in the northwestern part of Kefalonia Island. It is about thirty kilometers away from the capital Argostoli. Myrtos beach is one of the most famous and most attractive beaches in Greece, and is regularly voted as one of the top ten beaches in the country. The beach is made of white, shiny cobblestones and it is backed by huge limestone cliffs. The crystal-clear, warm turquoise sea water constantly attracts tourists from everywhere. Local laws forbid permanent solid structures on the beaches, so that is why you will find only one mobile beach kiosk for snacks and refreshments. You can find several fish tavernas on the main road that leads to the beach, in the village of Divarata. Small village of Divarata is located just a couple of kilometers above Myrtos Bay.
