Albufeira Holidays

Albufeira is one of the best holiday destinations in the central part of the Algarve region. The town offers great nightlife, stunning sandy beaches, great climate and a large selection of bars and restaurants. It is an ancient town where you will find remains from an old Roman castle, like the clock tower known as Torre do Relógio. The tower is usually lit in the summer period during the festivals.

Albufeira Weather

Albufeira has a very nice weather during the year. The hottest month of the year is July, when the average temperatures are around 23 C. The average temperature in the winter months is 12 C, and December is the month with the most rainfall. August is the best month to enjoy the ocean, as the average water temperature is about 21 C.

Albufeira The Stripe & Old Town

Albufeira is separated in two attractive areas – The Strip and Old Town. Both parts attract different tourists, and that makes this place really enjoyable for everyone. The old town has many charming narrow streets filled with lots of small cafés, shops and restaurants. This part mainly attracts families. The strip, on the other hand, attracts younger generations, groups of friends and everyone that enjoys partying late at night. The strip has one of the liveliest nightlife scenes in the whole region. It is located just two kilometers away from the old town. Here you will find lots of apartments and hotels, bars, shops and eateries. This place is usually very noisy, especially in the summer months. If you like neon lights, music shows and constant partying then this is the place to be.

Old town offers more calm and relaxing atmosphere. It has a beautiful main square surrounded with flowers, trees, shrubs and bushes. Here you will also find many top quality restaurants where you can enjoy a meal with great views. Streets in the old town have many nice shops where you will find quality clothing, and the leather shops offer top quality goods. You will also find many nice quiet cafés and bars here. English is spoken everywhere and all the menus come in a few different languages.

Albufeira Beaches

Albufeira resort has two beautiful beaches - Praia dos Pescadores and Praia do Túnel. The first one is located in front of lots of restaurants, and you can sometimes feel the barbeque smell in the air. This beach is easily accessed just by taking a few steps from the town. The second beach is located west and there are also lots of bars behind this beach.

Albufeira Marina

The marina of Albufeira is located in the western part of the town and is definitely a place to visit. Here you can take boating trips to many different places, but even if you do not go anywhere you still have to come here and enjoy the surroundings. All the apartments and buildings around the marina are painted in different bright colors – red, orange, pink, yellow, green and blue! Marina is a perfect place for relaxation in some of the nearby restaurants, walking on the promenade, or just for watching the sunset.
